Poopies! It’s the weekend and so far the PoopieFamily is having fun. Why you might ask? Do we have extra special plans going on? Nope! Is the weather amazing? Not exactly, as it rained all flippin’ morning. Did we just win the lottery? Uh, not quite. BUT…we are indeed happy and enjoying our day because we are all together. This is due in part to ’ole Poops here bearing in mind this week’s MOMtra, and as our day moves along, it’s remarkable how powerfully and beneficially it is impacting me. And of course, as with all the Poopie MOMtras, when something is benefitting me, it automatically benefits the whole family, since our life forces are all connected. Hence, the magic of MOMtras and in particular, the magic of Reiki! Sooo, here’s a truly transcendant one that I hope you will read, repeat and keeping repeating ’til it sinks in and makes you feel amazing!
For those Poopies out there who are unfamiliar with Reiki and would like a bit more information, here’s some important background on just what in the world today’s MOMtra is all about:
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words – Rei which means “God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power” and Ki which is “life force energy”. So Reiki is actually “spiritually guided life force energy.”
A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. This ability is passed on during an “attunement” given by a Reiki master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of “life force energy” to improve one’s health and enhance the quality of life.
Its use is not dependent on one’s intellectual capacity or spiritual development and therefore is available to everyone. It has been successfully taught to thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds. While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use it. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not. Because Reiki comes from God, many people find that using Reiki put them more in touch with the experience of their religion than having only an intellectual concept of it. While it’s not a religion, it is still important to live and act in a way that promotes harmony with others (reiki.org).
Not convinced yet, Poops? No problem. Start small. Baby steps. I was a skeptic at first too. However, as someone who has been receiving Reiki treatments on an off for a few years, I can tell you with the utmost sincerity that it works, as I always sense an improvement in my physical and mental wellbeing from the inside out after recieving Reiki. The energy that flows inside of us is absolutely real and I encourage any Poopie out there who is feeling stressed, tired, run-down or is need of any kind of mental, physical or spiritual healing to give your own energy a chance to help you first before seeking other treatments. In all the time I was sick last month, positive energy, more than anything else was what I believe my body, mind and spirit were missing. This was made all the more evident when I had a Reiki treatment about a week and a half ago. My body responded so powerfully to it and the abundance of energy flowing through me was the strongest ever. The heat was intense and I literally felt as though I might levitate right off the table. My life force was telling me something loud and clear: take care of yourself and don’t neglect your energy! The force within ourselves is unbelievable and until you experience it for yourself you may not fully comprehend all that we’re capable of, including contributing to our own healing.
If you’re not quite ready for Reiki treatments or don’t feel that it’s something you’re willing to explore, then perhaps just following the precepts above will be helpful to you. I encourage you to take this week’s MOMtra to heart and sit with it awhile. The older I get and the more I experience in my life, the more convinced I am that the connection between the mind and spirit and the physical body are more than intertwined and connected – they are completely dependent upon one another for good health. If your heart and mind are stressed, at some point your body will be too and vice versa. I have no doubt about that. Reiki is one way to positively focus on keeping all three parts of your wellbeing happy and coexisting healthily. The benefits are truly endless. I have never been more aware of the energy inside of me or the energy I am transmitting to others, especially those whom I love and cherish.
I hope the rest of your weekend is wonderful, Poopies. And I am sending all my energy to you and yours and wishing you much peace and happiness!
