Here’s part of the reason why I’m delinquent! My sis and nieces are in town and we’ve been hanging everyday entertaining these cutie patootie cousins ’round the clock. There is some serious girl power going on in our neck of the woods! It’s quite entertaining!
I’m starting to think it might be easier to tackle this challenge via video blog instead of the old-fashioned way. You just might see some new vlogs coming your way, as I can answer these challenge questions much easier by talking then writing! I feel bad that I’m behind schedule here, especially since there is additional content I’d like to get to that is important to my Poopies and me. But, alas, once I set my mind to something, I just can’t quit! So…here goes #’s 13, 14 & 15:
13 – WHAT IS MY EARLIEST MEMORY?
Weird. I hadn’t considered this before. I have flashes of super early memories that are kind of like fragments in my head but also probably come from pictures I’ve seen too. It’s hard to know what is genuinely an early, early memory and what has been pieced together from other things. There are snippets of things before I was 3 or 4 years-old, but nothing concrete. So I guess I need to start a little bit older. If I had to remember just one that really stands out, it would probably be when I was around 5 years-old and was with my family at the Lake of the Ozarks. It’s odd, but I have vivid memories of that trip…being on boats in the water, playing miniature golf, bowling with my big sister…the entire vacation is my first solid, continual family memory. And it’s a good one!
14 – IF I WON THE LOTTERY…
This one is easy. I’m a simple girl, so winning the lottery wouldn’t entail me going on some exorbitant, luxurious shopping spree buying up things we don’t need. I have no doubt that if we won the lotto tomorrow, you would still see me at Target, Walmart and Old Navy. Perhaps I’d hit Nordstrom or Whole Foods more than I do now, but really, I’ve never been much of a shopper so this is not how the money would be spent. But I sure wouldn’t mind securing the following: unloading the house we own at any price, college for the girls paid for completely, nest egg for each of them when they come of age, total future security, maybe a few nice vacations periodically and of course saving most of it for retirement. Sounds lame? Maybe. But I can’t even think of one “item” I would want. I’m happy and grateful for everything we already have and winning the lottery wouldn’t change that. It sure would be nice though. Oh, and I’m sure I’d let the PoopieGirls go on a little spree at Justice or Claire’s (their fashion meccas of choice : )
15 – TIMELINE OF MY DAY -
Well each day around here is a little different, so I guess I’ll just map-out today as an example:
7:30am – up, dress etc
8am – breakfast, makes kids’ lunches, pack for camp
8:30 – leave for camp
8:50 – PoopieGirl #1 drop-off
9am – PoopieGirl #2 drop-off
9:30-10:30 – workout at gym
11-12pm – on campus filling out paperwork (I am teaching again this fall!)
12:30-1:30 – grocery shopping, Target returns
1:30-2:30- home, working on articles (deadline next week! yikes!)
2:30 – back in car
2:45 – PoopieGirl #2 pick-up from camp
3pm – PoopieGirl #1 pick-up from camp
3:30-4 – more research for articles
4-4:30 – blog!
5pm – get dinner started
6pm – sitter coming! woo hoo! mama hasn’t had a night off in 2 wks and tonight it’s happening!
*well, that’s probably a typical representation of my day, except that the girls don’t usually stay at camp that late. I normally get one of the Poopies by 1pm but this week and next are my last chances to prep for the semester so they are staying late a few days since camp is over next week and it will be PoopieMommy 24/7 until school starts!
Ok, my beautiful Poopies out there! I hope you’re staying cool if you’re around these parts. It’s nasty out there. Pray for rain!!! We could really use it! I’ll be back soon with more of my crazy get-to-know-me challenges and back to some vital topics for discussion soon. xxoo.
